Using the tools
RadixDesk is provided free of charge for general information and convenience. You may use the tools for personal and commercial work. You may not use the site in a way that breaks the law, disrupts the service, or tries to gain unauthorised access to it.
No warranty
The tools and the explanations are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy. We test our tools against published specifications and describe their limits, but mistakes can happen, and standards, browsers and third-party software change over time.
About numeric, floating-point and encoding results
RadixDesk converts numbers between bases, shows bit patterns and explains encodings. It is an explanatory aid, not a certified calculation tool. Results for integers are exact (arbitrary-size integers), but floating-point results describe the IEEE 754 binary32 and binary64 formats with round-to-nearest, ties-to-even rounding only, and the text of the IEEE 754 standard itself, which is sold by the IEEE, was not consulted: the format rules come from the secondary sources listed on each page. The fixed-width integer modes show the usual two's complement result, but programming languages differ (for example C leaves some shifts and signed overflow undefined), so your compiler or runtime may behave differently from what a page shows. UTF-8 decoding follows the Unicode Standard's recommended replacement practice, which other software may not follow. Where a page marks behaviour as observed or unclear, other software may behave differently. Do not rely on these tools where a wrong number could harm people or property, for example in flight, medical, automotive, industrial-control, or financial-settlement software, without checking the result with an independent method.
Check results before relying on them
Always verify important results (for example before shipping code, writing a protocol or file-format specification, or making a decision that has financial, legal or safety consequences). The tools are not professional advice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or its results. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Third-party content and links
The site links to third-party websites, for example the specifications it cites. It currently shows no advertising; if that changes, the Privacy Policy will say so first. We do not control and are not responsible for their content or practices. The tools use no third-party code libraries at run time. See the Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
The site's text, design and code are owned by RadixDesk, an independent project operated from Indonesia unless stated otherwise. You own what you enter into the tools and the results they produce for you.
